KINGS NYMPTON SCARECROW COMPETITION 2018 RULES
Anyone living in the Parish is welcome to enter the Scarecrow competition!
The cost of entry is £5 per scarecrow
Scarecrows must be displayed at The Old Rectory gates by 12 noon on Revel Day
There aren’t really any rules as to how you have to build your scarecrow. All we ask is that you include some straw somewhere – it wouldn’t be a scarecrow otherwise!
This year’s theme is a character from TV
Your scarecrow should be named, with that name being clearly displayed
The height of your scarecrow can be between 3 and 6 foot.
Only scarecrows registered in time will be considered by the judges.
Judges will be selected by the Revel Committee.
This year, scarecrows will be judged on the following criteria:
- Interpretation of the theme
- Artistic/creative skills
A maximum of 10 marks will be available in each category. Prize winners will be determined by reference to the marks awarded to each scarecrow – in the event of tied scoring, the judges will decide the winner.
Best and most original Scarecrow £20
Best named Scarecrow £10
Prize winners will be announced and presentations will be made at Kings Nympton Revel in the grounds of The Old Rectory on Monday 27th August approx 4.00pm
